Mending broken relationships to self and others.

Many things in life hinder our abilities to achieve the life we want. Our wounds, defense mechanisms, personalities and belief systems have helped us survive but at some point these begin to hinder the life we want. Change is hard and painful but something you do not have to do alone.

Mending Broken Images and Relationships with Self, Others and God

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Mental Health Provider Status and a Certified Sex Therapist. I received my Masters of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, Mississippi. Prior to that I received a Masters in Public Relations from the University of Southern Mississippi (which continues to help me in a variety of ways). Twenty years ago I started my journey as a therapist. Since then, I have received various training including: Internal Family Systems, Gottman Level 1 and 2, Emotion Focused Therapy Externship, EMDR-level 2, Brain Spotting-level 2, and a Sex Therapy Certification through Sexual Wholeness at Richmont University. I have an extensive background as a student and teacher of the Enneagram. I spent 3 years under the teaching and mentorship of Enneagram Master Suzanne Stabile am currently working on certification through ChestnutPaes Academy. What you can expect in working with me is a welcoming, warm atmosphere, with a professional and non-judgmental spirit meeting you where you are and working with you to accomplish goals and growth you determine. I work from an integrative approach - mind, body, spirit (head, body, heart). I have also been trained to work from a faith based perspective with those who find their faith integral to growth. I have had the privilege of being an adjunct professors at Harding Theological in Memphis and at Reformed Theological seminary in Jackson, Mississippi, teaching Sex Therapy as a member of Sexual Wholeness out of Dallas Theological Seminary. Prior to coming to Franklin I worked in Memphis with an eating disorder IOP and in private practice. On a personal note, I am married 29 years and have an amazing daughter in college. I'm a huge SEC football fan. I have a double name and go by Mary Margaret. And I try to live to the best of my ability as a follower of Jesus, aiming to love all people with compassion, grace, generosity and love. Joining you on your journey to healing and personal growth is one of the most humbling and rewarding experiences of my life.
